
Department of Punjabi, Panjab University interacts with Avtar Gondra and shares views on translation process
The Department of Punjabi, Panjab University, Chandigarh organized a meeting with renowned editor, writer and translator Avtar Gondra at Mohan Singh Dewana Hall. The keynote speaker spoke about his translated book “Mahaul, Man Te Sahit” and its original author Dr. Trilok Chand Tulsi. Through his lecture, Avtar Gondra highlighted the complexities of the translation process.

Through his lecture, Avtar Gondra highlighted the complexities of the translation process.
Avtar also shared his views on another translated book “To Maine Dekha” and the newly edited magazine “Punjabiyat”. While facing questions from the students, he also expressed his concern about the self-awareness of Punjabi people. In the end, the Head of the Department, Dr. Yograj thanked the speaker and expressed his commitment to organize more such programs in future.
On this occasion, the faculty of the department, Dr. Paramjit Kaur Sidhu, Dr. Sukhjit Kaur Sidhu, Mr. Ravi Kumar and researchers were present.
