Patiala, February 21- Eminent educationist and Vice Chancellor of Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar, Dr. Karamjit Singh has been given additional charge of Vice Chancellor of Punjabi University. Punjab Governor Gulab Chand Kataria has issued orders in this regard.
He will hold the post of Vice Chancellor for six months or until a permanent appointment is made to this post. It is noteworthy that Dr. Karamjit Singh has been the founding Vice Chancellor of Jagat Guru Nanak Punjab State Open University, Patiala and has 38 years of teaching experience. His publications include five textbooks, three edited books and 51 research papers.
More than one and a half dozen students have obtained doctorate degrees under his supervision. Dr. Karamjit Singh has been awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award (2023) for his remarkable contribution in the field of education.
