Garhshankar, 9 December: As per the call given by the State Secretariat of Democratic Teachers Front Punjab to send collective demand letters to the District/Tehsil centres on 9-10 December against the reduction in the pay grade of PTI, Art Craft teachers and not giving them the opportunity to be appointed on all the vacant stations during promotion, the local unit of DTF Garhshankar has sent a demand letter to Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema through SDM Harbans Singh.
Giving information in this regard, DTF leaders Mukesh Kumar, Sandeep Singh Gill, Satnam Singh Bangar and Balkar Singh Maghania said that the Education Department (DSC Secondary) has revised the salary of PTI teachers and Art & Craft teachers and reduced the pay scale from 4400 to 3200 and a letter has been issued through the Finance Department regarding recovery from these teachers.
Similarly, under the anti-education and teacher promotion policy, hundreds of teachers have been deprived of promotion due to non-display of vacant posts in all schools in the remaining promotions including Primary to Master Carder, Master Card to Lecturer, PTI to DPE, Non-Teaching to Master Card. And under the new education policy 2020 of the Modi government, by keeping vacant posts in thousands of schools on the basis of the number of students, education has started to be disrupted.
The DTF leaders demanded that the salary cut letter of PTI and drawing teachers be withdrawn, the unfair decision of including the posts of PTI, Agriculture Teacher, Sewing Teacher, Music Teacher and Tabla Player Teacher in the dyeing cadre be withdrawn, the old posts of these cadres be restored and new posts be given in all schools as per the need, the implementation of the National Education Policy 2020 which supports privatization, centralization and saffronization should be stopped and the Punjab government should prepare its education policy according to the local conditions by taking suggestions from the educationists and teacher organizations of the state. He said that if the government and the education department do not withdraw the letter of fatal salary cut and do not open all the stations for the promoted teachers and do not resolve both the issues by 14 December, then a state level protest march will be taken out on Sunday, 15 December at 11 am towards the residence of Aam Aadmi Party and Punjab President and Cabinet Sub Committee Member Aman Arora in Sunam.
Madam Inderjit Kaur Jarnail Singh, Sanjeev Kumar PTI, Gurmel Singh PTI, Pradeep Kumar Guru, Ajmer Singh PTI, Davinder Singh ACT, Manjit Singh Banga, Jaswinder Singh Jassowal, Manpreet Singh Boha and Tej Pal etc. were present at this time.
