
60 thousand visitors arrived at Saras Mela and sales of Rs 82 lakhs were made
Patiala, February 17- So far, about 60 thousand tourists have arrived at the Patiala Heritage Fair which has been going on since February 14. In this Saras Mela, 155 stalls have been set up in different tents and 60 stalls in the open ground for the purchase and sale of various items, on which customers are coming to almost all of them and shopping. Sales of more than Rs 82 lakhs have been recorded here.

In this Saras Mela, 155 stalls have been set up in different tents and 60 stalls in the open ground for the purchase and sale of various items, on which customers are coming to almost all of them and shopping. Sales of more than Rs 82 lakhs have been recorded here.
Nodal officer of this fair, Additional Deputy Commissioner (G) Anuprita Johal said that artisans from 20 states of the country have arrived in this Saras (sale of goods of rural artisans) fair organized under the leadership of Patiala Deputy Commissioner Dr. Preeti Yadav, while 6 stalls of artisans from Thailand, Turkey, Egypt, Afghanistan have also been decorated. ADC Johal said that apart from women's suits, cotton clothes (ajrak), khujra crockery, bedsheets, handloom, home decor, tassel silk, furniture, carpets etc. have recorded good sales so far.
Apart from this, stalls of food items are also attracting the attention of the visitors. Wooden furniture, embroidery on wood, Khurja pottery, decorative items and hosiery items for women from Thailand, decorative items from Turkey etc. have become the center of special attraction. Anuprita Johal said that today sales of about 30 lakhs have been registered, while on February 16, sales of 38 lakhs, on February 15, 13 lakhs and on the first day, sales of about 1 lakh were registered.
Apart from this, a large number of visitors are enjoying delicious dishes as well as swings for children. In this fair, artists from more than one and a half dozen states, who came to entertain the audience with the support of North Zone Cultural Center, Patiala, have mesmerized the audience with their captivating presentation of culture and traditions of various states. This fair will continue till 24 February.
