
Emotional Jagran organized in memory of Prof. Simmi Agnihotri
Una, February 13- In memory of late Prof. (Dr.) Simmi Agnihotri, who made an incomparable contribution in education and social service, a Jagran of Mata Rani was organized at Rajiv Gandhi Suvidha Kendra in Bathu, Haroli on Wednesday night. In this emotional event, famous singers Roshan Prince and Anantpal Billa immersed the devotees in devotion with their bhajans and kirtans.
Una, February 13- In memory of late Prof. (Dr.) Simmi Agnihotri, who made an incomparable contribution in education and social service, a Jagran of Mata Rani was organized at Rajiv Gandhi Suvidha Kendra in Bathu, Haroli on Wednesday night. In this emotional event, famous singers Roshan Prince and Anantpal Billa immersed the devotees in devotion with their bhajans and kirtans.
It is worth mentioning that on February 12 last year, Prof. (Dr.) Simmi Agnihotri had resolved to organize a Jagran of Mata Rani, but unfortunately she died suddenly three days before the Jagran, due to which this resolution remained incomplete. To fulfill her memory and unfulfilled resolution, Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri and his daughter Aastha Agnihotri organized a Jagran this year on the same day, time and place. The holy flame was brought from Mata Shri Jwala Ji temple and installed with proper worship.
In this event, common people also participated in large numbers along with eminent and great personalities from every field of social life. During this, Assembly Speaker Kuldeep Pathania, Deputy Speaker Vinay Kumar, Ayush Minister Yadvinder Goma, Kullu MLA Sunder Singh Thakur, Chamba Sadar MLA Neeraj Nayyar, Chintpurni MLA Sudarshan Bablu, Kutlehar MLA Vivek Sharma, Nalagarh MLA Hardeep Singh Baba, Himachal Pradesh State Scheduled Caste Commission Chairman Kuldeep Kumar Dhiman, former minister Asha Kumari, Himachal Road Transport Corporation Vice President Ajay Verma, Una former MLA Satpal Raizada, Congress leader Chamma Thakur from Mandi Sadar, Una Congress President Ranjeet Rana, Deputy Commissioner Jatin Lal, Superintendent of Police Rakesh Singh along with many dignitaries, administrative officers, family members and devotees participated in the Mata Jagran. He paid floral tribute to the picture of Prof. Simmi Agnihotri and saluted her contribution. On this occasion, the Deputy Chief Minister expressed his gratitude to all the people present and said that this event was organized by Prof. This was done to fulfill the religious devotion of Simmi Agnihotri and her unfulfilled wish. Prof. Simmi was an ardent devotee of Mata Rani. She played an important role in the success of Shri Agnihotri, who won with record votes as MLA for five consecutive times. After every electoral victory, Prof. Simmi used to walk barefoot from home to visit Mata Chintapurni, Mata Jwalamukhi and Mata Baglamukhi. Carrying forward this tradition, her daughter Dr. Aastha Agnihotri, after the death of her mother, walked barefoot from her residence Gondpur Jaichand to the court of Mata Chintapurni last March as a tribute to her.
Prof. Simmi was a great educationist and true social worker
Born on 29 September 1968 in Mandi, the name of Prof. Simmi Agnihotri will continue to shine like a star in the sky of education. She completed her earthly journey on 9 February 2024 and merged into the divine light of Mata Rani. In her short life, she achieved many academic achievements, which represent Indian education on international academic forums. As a professor of public administration at Himachal Pradesh University, she brightened countless lives with her knowledge and experience. She also remained actively involved in the field of social service throughout her life. Her participation in the movement against drugs, road safety campaign, social work and her participation in every field were examples of her continuous active participation in social service.
