District Election Officer said that candidates can fill their nomination forms for these posts on 8th, 9th and 12th February from 11 am to 3 pm. The nomination papers of the candidates will be scrutinized on February 13 from 10 am, while on February 15, nominations can be withdrawn from 10 am to 3 pm. Election symbols will be allotted to the election candidates immediately after the completion of the withdrawal of nominations on February 15. He informed that the list of polling stations will be published on or before February 8. By-elections for vacant posts in various development blocks of the district will be cast on 25 February 2024 from 8 am to 4 pm and after that the votes of Pradhan, Up-Pradhan and ward members will be counted at the respective Gram Panchayat headquarters and the election results will be declared. District Election Officer said that by-elections will be conducted for the post of Gram Panchayat member in Ward-15 Katauhar Kalan of Panchayat Samiti (Gram Panchayat Katauhar Kalan, Kuthiadi) and Ward 1 of Gram Panchayat Mandholi under Development Block Amb.
By-election will be held for the post of Gram Panchayat member in Ward 2 of Gram Panchayat Tanoh under development block Bangana, while by-election will be held for the post of Gram Panchayat member in Ward No. 1 of Gram Panchayat Saloh Bairi of development block Gagret. The District Election Officer said that for the by-elections for the vacant posts of Panchayati Raj Institutions of the district, Sub-Divisional Officers of Amb, Bangana, Haroli, Gagret and Una have been appointed as Returning Officers for conducting the by-elections of the respective development blocks. He said that the concerned returning officers have also been authorized to appoint Assistant Returning Officers/Presiding Officers/Polling Officers and polling staff for the by-elections in Gram Panchayats.
