Prof. Agnihotri's husband, Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri and her daughter Dr. Aastha Agnihotri performed the annual Shraddha ritual with full rites at their residence in Gondpur Jaichand on Wednesday. On this occasion, people from every section of society came to pay their respects to Prof. Simmi Agnihotri. Throughout the day, there was a continuous stream of people paying their respects to her.
In the program, Chamba Sadar MLA Neeraj Nayyar, Chintpurni MLA Sudarshan Bablu, Nalagarh MLA Hardeep Singh Bawa, Himuda Vice President Yashwant Chhajta, Transport Authority members Dhamendra Dhami, Ranjeet Rana and Ashok Thakur, former minister Thakur Singh Bharmauri, former Una MLA Satpal Raijada, Deputy Commissioner Jatin Lal, Superintendent of Police Rakesh Singh and many other dignitaries paid floral tribute to his photo and saluted his contribution.

Late Prof. Simmi Agnihotri was not only a distinguished educationist but also had a deep dedication towards social service. She believed that education should not be limited to individual advancement but should also become a medium for the upliftment of the society. She played an active role in helping the poor, anti-drug movement, road safety campaign and many other social works through Aastha Foundation.

Born on 29 September 1968, Prof. Simmi Agnihotri completed her earthly journey on 9 February 2024. She was a professor of public administration at Himachal Pradesh University and was respected throughout the state for her scholarship, leadership skills and social contributions. Her teaching and research work left an indelible mark on the world of education, providing guidance and inspiration to countless students.
