Una, January 23- Himachal Pradesh Scheduled Caste Commission Chairman Kuldeep Dhiman said that the commission will hold district-wise meetings from February to resolve the problems of the people of the Scheduled Caste category. He gave this information after a meeting held at the SC Commission office in Rampur on Thursday.

Mr Dhiman said that in these meetings, people's problems will be heard with the MLAs of the respective assembly constituencies and will be placed before the government for solution. In this regard, the meeting held earlier in Kullu district has had positive results.
In the meeting, the efforts being made for the protection and welfare of the interests of the Scheduled Castes were discussed. In this, the need for new provisions in the SC Act and measures to protect the rights of the Dalit class were mainly emphasized.
Mr Dhiman informed that the state government has approved the Maharishi Valmiki Kamgar Awas Yojana. This scheme has been launched with the aim of providing financial assistance to those people of the Valmiki community who do not have their own house. However, those who do not have land are not able to avail the benefits of this scheme. This issue will be placed before the government.
He thanked the State Government under the leadership of Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu for the important steps taken for the welfare of Scheduled Castes in the State.
On this occasion, Commission members Advocate Vijay Dogra, Advocate Digvijay Malhotra, Assistant Commissioner and Member Secretary of the Commission Varinder Sharma along with other officers were present.
