Awareness Programme on “Use of Biomass in Thermal Power Plant” organised under Mission Samarth

Rajpura, January 17: A one day training-cum-awareness programme on “Use of Biomass in Thermal Power Plant” was organised at Rajpura under Mission Samarth in collaboration with Ministry of Power, Government of India. The awareness programme was attended by Mission officials, more than 200 farmers, FPOs, TPP officials, bankers, entrepreneurs and pellet manufacturers.

Rajpura, January 17: A one day training-cum-awareness programme on “Use of Biomass in Thermal Power Plant” was organised at Rajpura under Mission Samarth in collaboration with Ministry of Power, Government of India. The awareness programme was attended by Mission officials, more than 200 farmers, FPOs, TPP officials, bankers, entrepreneurs and pellet manufacturers.
Dr. M. Ravichandra Babu, Director, NPTI, Nangal delivered the welcome address and highlighted the objectives of the Mission and benefits of pellet manufacturing in thermal power plants for farmers. Mohammad Nizamuddin, AGM NTPC and Member, Samarth Mission addressed the gathering and discussed technical and financial aspects of biomass availability and supply chain management. He also encouraged FPOs, new entrepreneurs to work in this field.
Chief Agriculture Officer Dr. Jaswinder Singh while addressing highlighted the availability of biomass in Rajpura, he motivated the farmers to make straw pellets for use of biomass in thermal power plants. SDM Rajpura Avikesh Gupta inaugurated the event as chief guest and while addressing the audience he informed about various schemes being run by the government for farmers and entrepreneurs. Assistant Director Saurabh Mahajan, SDM Avikesh Gupta, Chief Agriculture Officer Dr. Jaswinder Singh, AGM NPTC Nizamuddin, Director NPTI Dr. M. Ravichandra Babu, Mission members, farmers, TPP officials, bankers, entrepreneurs and pellet manufacturers were present on the occasion.
