Garhshankar: Principal Dr. Amandeep Hira, Institutions Innovation Council, Babbar Akali Memorial Khalsa College, Garhshankar, run under the management of Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee, in collaboration with the Department of Commerce and Computer Science, celebrated National Startup Day by organizing quiz, speech and power point presentation competitions to promote entrepreneurship and creativity among students.
The program started with a quiz competition, in which students showed their talent about startups, business trends and successful entrepreneurs. In this competition held between five departments, the team of Rosie, Kamaljot, Kuljit Kaur, Gurlan Kaur and Khushrina from the Commerce Department got the first place, the team of Madhu Bala, Manpreet, Sapna and Kuldeep Kaur from the Science Department got the second place, the team of Diksha, Paras, Upasana, Prabhjot Singh and Deepika from the Computer Science Department and the team of Simran Kaur, Ishika Verma, Manisha, Himani Chaudhary and Abhinandani from the Education Department jointly got the third place.
Similarly, in the speech competition organized on the topic of 'Industry and Startup', the participants expressed their views on the importance of startups and the need for cooperation from local entrepreneurs, in which Diksha got first, Sejal Sakia got second and Harpreet Kaur got third place. In the Power Point Presentation, the students presented their new startup ideas in visual form, in which Sejal Sakia got first, Aanchal got second and Mannat got third place.
College Principal Dr. Amandeep Hira appreciated the enthusiasm of the students. She said that such programs encourage young minds to think new ideas and contribute to the world of startups. On this occasion, students who performed well in the competitions were honored with certificates and medals and other students were motivated to participate in future competitions.
On this occasion, Head of Commerce Department Prof. Kanwar Kulwant Singh, President of IIC Dr. Ajay Dutta, Convener Prof. Deepika and other members were present. Prof. Gurjinder Kaur and Prof. Narinder Jeet Kaur conducted the stage.
