Safe School Vehicle Task Force inspected school buses

Hoshiarpur- Under the Safe School Vehicle Policy, keeping in mind the safety of school children, it is mandatory for the school principal to follow all the rules of the buses. In this regard, on the instructions of the Honorable Punjab and Haryana High Court and the Punjab State Child Protection Commission and the orders of the Deputy Commissioner, the task force constituted under the Safe School Vehicle Scheme inspected the school buses.

In this regard, on the instructions of the Honorable Punjab and Haryana High Court and the Punjab State Child Protection Commission and the orders of the Deputy Commissioner, the task force constituted under the Safe School Vehicle Scheme inspected the school buses.
The task force inspected school buses at St. Joseph Convent School, Ram Colony Camp and Academic Heights Public School, Chagran. During the inspection, points like first aid kit, female attendant, passing, speed governor, emergency exit, fire extinguisher, CCTV cameras, seating capacity in the bus etc. were checked in the buses. The buses in which deficiencies were found, were challaned on the spot.
On this occasion, District Child Protection Officer Harpreet Kaur, Tarlok Singh from Regional Transport Authority, Abhishek from Education Department, Kulwant Singh from Police Department and Legal Officer Sukhjinder Singh were present. The District Child Protection Officer said that there is a danger of accidents due to buses not fulfilling the conditions as per the Safe School Vehicle Policy. He said that this campaign will be run continuously in the district by the Safe School Vehicle Task Force. The task force instructed all schools to get medical checkup of all drivers done on time and the drivers and conductors of the buses should be in uniform. He said that special care should be taken of small children traveling in buses. Proper arrangements should be made for children to cross the road while boarding and alighting from the buses and the deficiencies found in school buses should be removed immediately.
