*Over 3300 candidates appeared in the entrance examination for the 15th course of Maharaja Ranjit Singh Preparatory Institute;

SAS Nagar/ Chandigarh, January 12: 3329 candidates appeared in the entrance examination conducted today for the 15th course starting at Maharaja Ranjit Singh Armed Forces Preparatory Institute, SAS Nagar (Mohali). This year, a record number of boys (4128) registered for this entrance examination. This success came due to the concerted efforts of the Punjab Government led by Chief Minister Sardar Bhagwant Singh Mann and the high success of the institution.

SAS Nagar/ Chandigarh, January 12: 3329 candidates appeared in the entrance examination conducted today for the 15th course starting at Maharaja Ranjit Singh Armed Forces Preparatory Institute, SAS Nagar (Mohali). This year, a record number of boys (4128) registered for this entrance examination. This success came due to the concerted efforts of the Punjab Government led by Chief Minister Sardar Bhagwant Singh Mann and the high success of the institution.
It is worth mentioning that this institution is running under the Department of Employment Generation, Skill Development and Training headed by Cabinet Minister Mr. Aman Arora. Director of Maharaja Ranjit Singh Armed Forces Preparatory Institute, Major General (Retd) Ajay H Chauhan, VSM, paid a surprise visit to the examination centre set up at School of Eminence, Phase-3B1, Mohali.
Three examination centres were set up for this entrance examination at School of Eminence, Phase-3B1, Mohali, Police DAV Public School, PAP Complex, Jalandhar and MSD Senior Secondary School, Bathinda. Despite the inclement weather, a large number of youth turned up to appear for the examination.
Major General Ajay H Chauhan said that the top 150 successful candidates from this examination will later be called for the final selection process like interview and medical. And 48 candidates from across Punjab will be selected for training under the supervision of the experienced and highly qualified staff of this institution for recruitment to the armed forces through the National Defence Academy (NDA) and its equivalent academies.
He said that after the Punjab government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann assumed power, a total of 74 cadets of this institution have become commissioned officers in the defence services. Apart from this, 64 cadets have joined the training academies and 12 cadets are waiting for call up letters.
