Deputy Commissioner and SSP visit drug de-addiction and rehabilitation center and motivate patients

Hoshiarpur- Deputy Commissioner Komal Mittal and SSP Surendra Lamba visited the drug de-addiction and rehabilitation center Fatehgarh. On this occasion, they inquired about the well-being of the admitted patients and motivated them to get rid of drugs. While talking to the patients, the Deputy Commissioner said that coming out of the grip of drugs is a courageous step. And the district administration is committed to provide them with all possible help.

During which SSP Surendra Lamba said that drugs not only harm individual life. But it has a negative impact on the entire society. He said that such centers are a ray of hope for those people who want to get out of the clutches of drugs. During this, some youth who have given up drugs also interacted with the patients and shared their experiences.
They told how they got rid of drugs and now they are starting their lives anew. Their experiences and stories became a source of inspiration for the current patients here. The Deputy Commissioner said that skill courses like multi-cuisine cooking, hair dress and salon artist are being run for the past one year for the people who have come out of the grip of drugs through the District Red Cross Society Hoshiarpur. The aim of these courses is to make these people self-reliant and re-establish them in the society. He said that so far a total of 2 batches have been successfully passed in these courses. And 60 students have been trained. He said that with the help of the District Red Cross Society, a Tibh Basre skill course, 'Mera Bagh Mera Maan' has been started. This course will be run in collaboration with the Red Cross and the Horticulture Department. In this, the people who have given up drugs will be taught skills related to agriculture so that they can join this profession and make a new start and stay away from drugs.
