Zirakpur, December 27- A youth was attacked by some unknown people last night in Zirakpur, leaving him seriously injured.
According to the information received, a youth aged between 20 and 25 years was allegedly attacked by two people near Al Mastin Dhaba on Zirakpur Patiala Road last night. During this attack, the youth suffered head injuries and he ran towards Zirakpur Patiala Chowk to save himself.
According to eyewitnesses, one of the attackers was riding an active scooter, while the other attacker was chasing him. The attacker attacked the youth with a knife before the Zirakpur-Patiala Chowk curved traffic control beat box.
The injured youth has been identified as Akashdeep Singh resident of Gurdaspur (now resident of Zirakpur).
According to eyewitnesses, the injured youth was taken to a local private hospital in critical condition, from where he was referred to Sector-32 hospital. But the youth died during treatment.
After the incident, Zirakpur police reached the spot and started investigating the incident and investigation is going on on the basis of CCTV. Any police officer associated with this case refused to say anything.
