S. A. S. Nagar, November 15 - The team of Range Anti-Narcotics cum Special Operation Cell Camp at Phase-7 Mohali has succeeded in arresting 2 persons with 22 kg poppy seeds under the campaign against drug traffickers and bad elements.

Giving information about this, Inspector Harminder Singh, team in charge of Range Anti-Narcotics cum Special Operation Cell Camp at Mohali, said that these persons have been arrested by ASI Jeet Ram and the police party during patrolling from village Sohana Tobhe Wali side. He said that the police party asked 2 young men on a motorcycle (with a heavy plastic bag in the middle) to stop, whereupon these persons dropped the bag and started running away from the motorcycle, but the police party caught them. .

He said that on questioning, the motorcycle driver gave his name as Bhura resident of village Mansi Nagra, district Aligarh and the youth sitting behind gave his name as Suraj Bharti resident of Kamalpur, district Aligarh (both are tenants near Guru Sahib village Sohana). They said that on searching the bag thrown down by them, 22 kg of poppy seeds were recovered from it.

In this regard, N. at Sohana police station. D. P. S. A case has been registered under Section 15 of the Act, 29/61/85. He said that these persons have been arrested and produced in the honorable court and remanded for one day. He said that these persons are being questioned as to which other persons are involved in this drug trafficking.
