
Additional Deputy Commissioner reviewed skill development schemes
Nawanshahr- The meeting of the District Skill Committee of Punjab Skill Development Mission for the third quarter of the financial year 2024-25 was held under the chairmanship of Additional Deputy Commissioner (J) Rajiv Verma. In this meeting, the Additional Deputy Commissioner reviewed the skill development schemes being run in the district.
Nawanshahr- The meeting of the District Skill Committee of Punjab Skill Development Mission for the third quarter of the financial year 2024-25 was held under the chairmanship of Additional Deputy Commissioner (J) Rajiv Verma. In this meeting, the Additional Deputy Commissioner reviewed the skill development schemes being run in the district.
On this occasion, the district level team of Punjab Skill Development Mission informed that under Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Grameen Kaushal Yojana, 51 candidates are being given training for Warehouse Associate Course in the district, which will be completed by April 2025. In this training, apart from free training, the candidates are being given free copy-books, uniforms and travel fare. After this training program, the candidates will be given employment. Apart from this, information was given about the skill training programs to be started soon in the government skill development centers established in the district under Punjab Skill Development Mission in Usmanpur and Mukandpur.
Candidates were informed about the admission of students in online courses of Artificial Intelligence as per the agreement made by Punjab Skill Development Mission with IBM/NASSCOM/Microsoft. Additional Deputy Commissioner Rajeev Verma directed the government/private colleges of the district to get maximum number of candidates studying in their institutions enrolled in these courses and provide the benefits of this scheme. Additional Deputy Commissioner Rajeev Verma appealed to the youth of the district to take maximum advantage of various free skill training schemes being run by the Punjab Government and become eligible for good jobs by honing their skills.
He issued instructions to the representatives of various departments participating in the meeting to take necessary action to get the needy candidates enrolled in these schemes under their departments. Apart from the representatives of various departments, Shammi Thakur, Sumit Sharma and Raj Kumar from the district team of Punjab Skill Development Mission were present on the occasion.
