Chandigarh, September 19- The way has been paved for panchayat elections in Punjab and the panchayat elections will be held before October 20. A notification is being issued soon by the Rural Development and Panchayat Department. The Panchayat Department will send this notification to the Punjab State Election Commission and the Election Commission will issue the schedule of the Panchayat elections on this basis and the announcement of the election dates is possible at any time. According to sources, panchayat elections can be held on October 13. Recently, the Rural Development and Panchayat Department had sent the file related to the Panchayat elections to the Chief Minister's office, which has been given the green signal by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann. The Governor of Punjab has already approved the amendments made in the Punjab Panchayati Raj Act 1994 for reservation of Sarpanches. The Principal Secretary of the Department of Legal and Legislative Affairs of the Punjab Government has also issued a notification in this regard on September 16. Now, since the process has been started by the Rural Development and Panchayat Department, it has become clear that the Panchayat elections will be held before October 20.
