Information in this regard was given here today in a meeting chaired by Chief Secretary Mr. Anurag Rastogi. It was informed in the meeting that this plant is expected to be operational within 18 months from the date of award of contract. World-class processing standards will be adopted in the plant and efficient supply chain management will be ensured.
It is noteworthy that Rampura is connected to major mustard producing districts like Bhiwali, Mahendragarh, Hisar, Rohtak, Jhajjar and Rewari. These districts collectively contribute about 60 percent of the total mustard production in Haryana, thereby ensuring the availability of raw material. The annual requirement of the plant will be 45,000 MT, which is about 10 percent of the availability of the catchment area. Thus, the operation of the plant will be sustainable and stable.
The proposed site is located within a radius of 200 km from the catchment area and is connected by excellent road and rail network. This will further strengthen the competitiveness of the oilseed sector of the state along with smooth procurement, transport and distribution.
The meeting was attended by Additional Chief Secretary of Town and Country Planning and Urban Estate Department Mr. A. K. Singh, Additional Chief Secretary of Cooperation Department Mr. Vijender Kumar, Managing Director of HAFED Mr. Mukul Kumar and other senior officers.
