The entire country will always be indebted to the Armed Forces - Rajesh Dhiman

Nawanshahr: The District Defence Services Welfare Office celebrated the Armed Forces Flag Day today. Meanwhile, Deputy Commissioner-cum-President District Sainik Board Rajesh Dhiman at the District Administrative Complex said that the entire country will always be indebted to the Armed Forces for maintaining and strengthening the unity and integrity of the country, which is always ready to sacrifice its present for the tomorrow of the countrymen.

Nawanshahr: The District Defence Services Welfare Office celebrated the Armed Forces Flag Day today. Meanwhile, Deputy Commissioner-cum-President District Sainik Board Rajesh Dhiman at the District Administrative Complex said that the entire country will always be indebted to the Armed Forces for maintaining and strengthening the unity and integrity of the country, which is always ready to sacrifice its present for the tomorrow of the countrymen. 
He said that we should all be proud of our brave soldiers, who, despite being residents of different states of the country and speaking different languages, are ready to die unitedly for the protection of the country. He said that this day gives us all an opportunity to show our respect towards the defence forces by placing a symbolic flag on our collars. He appealed to all the residents of the district to donate generously for Flag Day, so that maximum help can be provided to the soldiers, ex-servicemen, brave women and their dependents in times of need.
On this occasion, the District Defence Services Welfare Office launched this campaign by placing a token flag on the collar of the Deputy Commissioner. Meanwhile, the District Defence Services Welfare Office informed that the government has given a target of Rs 7 lakh to District Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar to collect Flag Day funds this year, which will be possible to meet with the cooperation of all the ex-servicemen/civilians of the district and government and semi-government institutions of the district. He informed that the amount donated for Armed Forces Flag Day is exempt from income tax.
On this occasion, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Development) Avneet Kaur, Vice President District Sainik Board Colonel (Retd) Sukhwant Singh Sekhon, VSM, Superintendent Raj Kumari, Steno Ranjita Sarangal, Sainik Welfare Manager Gurmail Singh, all the staff and other ex-servicemen from the District Sainik Board office participated.
