
Central Jail's female prisoner Sonia gets 'Tinka-Tinka Bandni Award 2024'
Patiala, December 19- Superintendent of Central Jail Patiala Varun Sharma said that Sonia, wife of Man Singh, an undertrial female prisoner of his jail, has been awarded the 'Tinka-Tinka Bandni Award 2024' by the Tinka-Tinka Foundation. He said that Sonia has been honored on the occasion of World Human Rights Day.
Patiala, December 19- Superintendent of Central Jail Patiala Varun Sharma said that Sonia, wife of Man Singh, an undertrial female prisoner of his jail, has been awarded the 'Tinka-Tinka Bandni Award 2024' by the Tinka-Tinka Foundation. He said that Sonia has been honored on the occasion of World Human Rights Day.
Varun Sharma said that Sonia has been given this prestigious honor for her unique contribution in the process of giving positive and constructive thinking and guidance to the lives of her fellow female prisoners in jail. He said that this award inspires thousands of women prisoners lodged in jails to showcase their skills and rehabilitate in the society after being released from jail and earn their livelihood.
Jail Superintendent Varun Sharma said that this award has not only boosted the morale of the prisoners of the Central Jail but has also promoted a transformative environment within the jail. Commenting on the achievement, Varun Sharma said, "Sonia's dedication to positively impact the lives of her fellow inmates is commendable.
It is noteworthy that the Tinka Tinka Foundation serves as an inspiration to prisoners and underlines the importance of rehabilitation through creative initiatives. The aim is to recognize prisoners, prison staff and organizations that make significant contributions to promoting human rights, creativity and rehabilitation within prisons.
Additional Superintendent Harcharan Singh Gill, Deputy Superintendent Jaideep Singh and Assistant Superintendent Gurjinder Kaur were also present when the Superintendent presented the certificate of this award to Sonia.
