Punjab Forest Department Workers Union Registered, 11/89, announces to hold protest dharna.

Patiala Date 25th August 2025- Today, the daily wage workers of the Forest Department held a massive meeting at Nehru Park in Patiala under the leadership of State General Secretary Mr. Virpal Singh Lumba, and Suba President Balvir Singh Mandauli, Major Singh Bahera and Harpreet Singh and Kulwant Singh Thuhi.

Patiala Date 25th August 2025- Today, the daily wage workers of the Forest Department held a massive meeting at Nehru Park in Patiala under the leadership of State General Secretary Mr. Virpal Singh Lumba, and Suba President Balvir Singh Mandauli, Major Singh Bahera and Harpreet Singh and Kulwant Singh Thuhi. During this meeting, the colleagues who arrived said that the Forest and Wildlife Protection Department of Punjab has been neglecting the daily wage workers who have been working for a long time and whose service has been in the department for thirty years.
But those who have been away on departmental work. They were not at work. There is no relief for them who have spent their lives doing the work of the department. The service of the old workers should be considered as continuous service and appropriate facilities and benefits should be given as per the regular policy dated 16/5/23. The workers who have reached 60 years of age should be provided with some gratuity financial assistance keeping in mind their future.
The salaries stopped from January 25 should also be released immediately. The Punjab government should also pay attention to the payment of salaries of all these schemes from June 2025. The contract system should be completely banned in the forest department. The Punjab Forest Department Workers Union has decided to implement the demand regarding these demands.
On 21/8/2025, a protest will be held in front of the offices of the Forest Divisional Officer and Deputy Commissioner Patiala in Patiala and a memorandum will be sent to the government. And on August 30, 2025, a special massive protest rally will be held at the residence of Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann in Sangrur, for which the Punjab government and departmental officials will be responsible for all the protests. A large number of departmental workers reached on this occasion.
