Patiala, December 4 - To review the preparations for the upcoming elections of Municipal Corporation, Municipal Councils and Nagar Panchayats in Patiala district; Deputy Commissioner-cum-District Election Officer Dr. Preeti Yadav held a meeting with Nodal Officer-cum-ADC (Rural Development) Anuprita Johal and ADC (Rural Development) Navreet Kaur Sekhon and SP City Sarfaraz Alam along with all SDMs for these elections.
On this occasion, the Deputy Commissioner reviewed the law and order situation, EVMs, videography, voter lists and training of election staff in the district. Issuing orders to all the officers to take the orders of the State Election Commission seriously, the Deputy Commissioner said that civil and police officers should be ready; and whenever the State Election Commission, Punjab announces the schedule for the general elections of Municipal Corporations, Nagar Panchayats and Nagar Councils. Immediately after that, the model code of conduct will be implemented within the limits of Rajpura, Nabha, Samana and Patran Municipal Councils of Patiala district.
He said that all the officials should make their full preparations so that the election work can be completed as per the instructions of the State Election Commission. SDMs Dr. Ismat Vijay Singh, Manjit Kaur, Kirpalveer Singh, Tarsem Chand and Avikesh Gupta were also present in the meeting.
