Nawanshahr's historic Baradari Garden to be transformed

Nawanshahr: Due to the initiative of Deputy Commissioner Rajesh Dhiman, the heritage site of Nawanshahr, Bardari Bagh, is going to be transformed. The renovation work of this historical garden, which has a history of about 200 years, is going to start soon.

Giving information in this regard, Deputy Commissioner Rajesh Dhiman said that the district administration has received an amount of Rs 20 lakh from the MP LEED Fund for the renovation of Baradari Bagh. He said that as many more funds as are required to improve the appearance of the garden, they will be made available. He was told that under this, while the buildings, parks, promenades, fountains, children's swings, etc. in the garden will be given a new look, the library in the garden will also be equipped with Wi-Fi, new furniture and modern facilities. Similarly, the garden will be made beautiful and more green.
He said that this Baradari Bagh, a witness to the Sikh Misls and the reign of Maharaja Ranjit Singh, has a rich history and will be preserved as the heritage of the city. He said that this beautiful place spread over about five acres in the center of the city is a good place for people as well as elders and women to sit and take morning and evening walks to increase their activities; it is also a suitable place for children to play. He said that no stone will be left unturned for the continuous maintenance of this heritage place of the city and its development as a center of tourism. The Deputy Commissioner said that other main places and squares of the city will also be transformed on the lines of Baradari Bagh. He said that under this, work is also underway to change the appearance of Chandigarh Chowk. He said that Nawanshahr will be counted among the beautiful cities of Punjab.
