
Policies of the Central and Punjab governments are destroying democracy: Hamir Singh.
Patiala, July 19- Today, the District Committee of the Internationalist Democratic Platform (IDP) organized a discussion on the topic "What should be the future political direction in the current political situation?" at Tarksheel Bhawan, Patiala. On this occasion, the keynote speaker, senior journalist and thinker of Punjab, Hamir Singh said that the policies of the Modi government and the Punjab government are destroying democracy.
Patiala, July 19- Today, the District Committee of the Internationalist Democratic Platform (IDP) organized a discussion on the topic "What should be the future political direction in the current political situation?" at Tarksheel Bhawan, Patiala. On this occasion, the keynote speaker, senior journalist and thinker of Punjab, Hamir Singh said that the policies of the Modi government and the Punjab government are destroying democracy. He said that even after being in power for 10 years, the Prime Minister of the country is running away from accountability before the public and is also avoiding questions from journalists. He only speaks his point, but does not care about the plight of the public.
He further said that the Punjab government has also started evicting people from their lands on the lines of the Center. On this occasion, he also said that day and night competitions are going on against the youth in Punjab. No leader or political party is raising voice against this human crime. He also said that villages are getting ruined due to wrong policies of the government.
So today it has become very important to go to villages and unite aware people and awaken people, because governments have completely influenced the media. Therefore, they create the kind of environment they want. Therefore, today there is a need for great unity and struggle. All parties need to come on one platform to save democratic values.
Starting the discussion, senior IDP leader Faljit Singh Sangrur said that governments are playing in the hands of big business houses. IDP leaders Karnail Singh Jakhepal, Darshan Singh Dhanetha, Gurmeet Singh Thuhi while addressing said that 80 percent of the country's population is living in a pitiable condition but our leaders are not feeling the pain of the common people.
On this occasion, District President of Kirti Kisan Union Punjab Davinder Singh Poonia, Advocate Rajiv Lohtbaddi, President of Nambardar Union Harbans Singh, Professor Sukhjinder Singh Pritamhinder Sekhon of Punjabi University Patiala also addressed the gathering and said that the biggest demand of the time today is to unite and fight for the demands of the people.
On this occasion, Tarlochan Singh Sular Gharaat, Tara Singh Phagguwala, Manpreet Kaur Rajpura, Sunita Rani Kaidupur, Kulwinder Kaur Ramgarh, Ram Lal Sangrur, Gurtej Singh Samana, Karam Singh Wajidpur, Jangir Singh Patiala etc also addressed the gathering.
