Special Gram Sabha organized in Beaton under Tribal Pride Year

Una, November 15- A special Gram Sabha-cum-orientation programme was organized today at Gram Panchayat Beaton of Haroli Assembly Constituency by the Ministry of Panchayati Raj, Government of India to celebrate "Tribal Pride Year" to commemorate the 150th birth anniversary of the great tribal leader Bhagwan Birsa Munda. These special Gram Sabhas were organized in 54202 villages across the country.

Una, November 15- A special Gram Sabha-cum-orientation programme was organized today at Gram Panchayat Beaton of Haroli Assembly Constituency by the Ministry of Panchayati Raj, Government of India to celebrate "Tribal Pride Year" to commemorate the 150th birth anniversary of the great tribal leader Bhagwan Birsa Munda. These special Gram Sabhas were organized in 54202 villages across the country. The purpose of this programme is to make the Panchayat representatives and tribal community aware about the rights and opportunities available under the Forest Rights Act (FRA), so that they can have a better understanding of their rights and take empowered steps for the welfare of the community. The programme was presided over by District Panchayat Officer Shravan Kumar.
Shravan Kumar told that Bhagwan Birsa Munda was born on 15 November 1875 in Khunti district of Jharkhand. Birsa Munda fought for the rights of the tribal community during the British Raj and is known as 'Dharti Baba' among the people of his community.
On the birth anniversary of Birsa Munda, we should remember his contributions and pledge to adopt his principles.
On this occasion, Shravan Kumar made the villagers aware about the rights received under the Forest Rights Act (FRA), Panchayat Special Index (PDI) and Gram Panchayat Development Plan 2025-26.
After this, BDO Haroli Virendra Kaushal also informed the people about the schemes related to his department.
Many important activities were conducted in the program organized on this occasion. First of all, all the participants were made to read the Preamble of the Constitution, which reminded them of the values ??and principles of the country. After this, the oath of cleanliness and de-addiction was taken, which tried to promote a healthy lifestyle and a sense of responsibility towards the society among the people. After this, Sania, a student of Government Senior Secondary School Beaton, expressed her views on the topic of Birsa Munda, Khushboo and Balvinder on the topic of cleanliness and Lovepreet and Diksha on the topic of de-addiction.
After this, an Amla plant was also planted by the Chief Guest under the campaign “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam”, which is an important step towards environmental protection and promoting the importance of trees.
On this occasion, the local Panchayat honoured eminent retired persons of the village and the families of the martyrs by giving them mementos.
In the end, the programme was concluded by the presentation of National Anthem by the girl students of Government Senior Secondary School, Beaton.
