Till Saturday, 88 percent of this year's potential target of paddy has arrived in the mandis of the district

Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar, November 9, 2024: The ongoing procurement of paddy in 18 mandis of Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar district is progressing towards completion. Till Saturday evening, 88 percent of paddy of this year's potential arrival target has been purchased in the district markets.

Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar, November 9, 2024: The ongoing procurement of paddy in 18 mandis of Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar district is progressing towards completion. Till Saturday evening, 88 percent of paddy of this year's potential arrival target has been purchased in the district markets.
 According to Deputy Commissioner Ashika Jain, the arrival of paddy in the markets of the district is slowing down in view of the paddy procurement season reaching its fullness. On Saturday, the arrival of paddy was recorded as 2941 metric tons.
 According to the Deputy Commissioner of the district Mrs. Ashika Jain, 1,88,017 metric tons of paddy has been purchased in the mandis of the district so far. Out of this purchased paddy, 96,910 metric tons of paddy has been lifted.
 The Deputy Commissioner further said that procurement operations are going on smoothly in the district and farmers are not facing any kind of problem.
 According to the Deputy Commissioner, 418.99 crore rupees have been paid to farmers in the district so far.
 He said that this year, the potential yield of paddy in the markets of the district has been estimated at 2,14,776 metric tons, of which 88 percent has been received, and only 12 percent is left.
 Giving details of the agency wise procurement data in the district markets, he said that 64,241 metric tons from Pangrain, 42,724 metric tons from Markfed, 40,599 metric tons from Pansap, 18,130 metric tons from Punjab State Warehouse Corporation and 21,646 metric tons from Food Corporation of India. Paddy has been purchased. 677 metric tons of paddy has been purchased by private traders.
