Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar, November 9, 2024: The Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Department of the district has appealed to the farmers of the district; That they can use other fertilizers for sowing wheat, mustard and potato in case DAP is not readily available in the market.
 According to Chief Agriculture Officer Dr. Gurmail Singh, there is no shortage of alternative fertilizers rich in phosphorus in place of DAP in the district.
 He appealed to the farmers that they can use other fertilizers available in the market like nitrogen phosphorus and potassium compound, single super phosphate, triple super phosphate as an alternative to supplement phosphorus content.
 He termed single super phosphate as the most effective alternative to DAP for sowing oilseed based crops, especially saro, and said that it also provides the required amount of sulfur to oilseed based crops.
 According to the Chief Agriculture Officer, a special campaign has been started by the Department of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare to make farmers aware of the alternative to DAP in the district. Under which farmers are being given information about the alternative to DAP through pamphlets, Kisan Milaniya and announcements from religious places in public places.
 He appealed to the farmers that whatever fertilizer they buy from the market or buy any seeds or buy any pesticide chemicals. It is mandatory to get his bill so that they can get high quality crop and if they have any kind of doubt about the quality then they should immediately contact their Block Agriculture Officer and give him all the information.
