Kharar (Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar), November 3, 2024: Jaskaran Singh, a leading farmer of Pannuan village in the district, says that we should meet the DAP deficiency with alternative fertilizers containing phosphorus element.
Jaskaran Singh, while talking to Shubhkaran Singh, Block Agriculture Officer, Kharar, said that last year also he faced DAP deficiency, but he managed with single superphosphate, which contains the same amount of phosphorus as DAP. He says that phosphorus can be obtained from any good quality fertilizer available in the market, so we should not hesitate to use any good phosphorus fertilizer as an alternative to DAP.
Jaskaran Singh is using NPK 12:32:16 this year, last year he used single superphosphate. He says that he has learnt from his experience last year that phosphorus can be easily fulfilled by DAP, NPK or single superphosphate or triple superphosphate, so we should not just ask for DAP and buy it at a high rate.
This time Jaskaran Singh is sowing wheat in five acres, while he is sowing mustard in one acre and green fodder in one acre. He says that farmers can use any good quality fertilizer with the presence of phosphorus element, but the bill of the fertilizer must be taken, so that there is no problem later.
The Chief Agriculture Officer of the district, Dr. Gurmel Singh says that one and a half bags of NPK 12:32:16 as compared to DAP, three bags as compared to single superphosphate DAP, one bag as compared to triple superphosphate DAP and only 1.8 bags of NP 10:26:26 as compared to DAP, are sufficient for the required amount of phosphorus content for wheat. He said that if DAP is not available in the market then we need not panic but can use any of the above mentioned fertilizers containing phosphorus which has the additional advantage that they provide us more nutrients which are multi-purpose for our farm.
