Nawanshahr - Additional Deputy Commissioner (Development) Avneet Kaur said that corruption is a disease that is a major obstacle to our and the country's development. He was addressing the officials and employees of various departments during the event organized by the Vigilance Bureau Hoshiarpur at the District Administrative Complex Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar to take a resolution against corruption. Meanwhile, DSP Vigilance Bureau Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar Ashwani Kumar, District Development and Panchayat Officer Nidhi Sinha and District Public Relations Officer Hardev Singh were also present with him.
 Additional Deputy Commissioner said that corruption is consuming our country and society. He appealed to the officials and employees to work in such a way that no question marks arise on their working style and people's confidence in the government system increases. It should come forward so that this social evil can be eradicated from the roots. He said that we all should take a pledge that we will not be part of any corrupt activity and if any such activity comes to light we will report it to the competent authority.
 DSP Vigilance Bureau Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar Ashwani Kumar told on this occasion that on the instructions of Anti Corruption Commission New Delhi under the guidelines of Chief Director Vigilance Bureau Varinder Kumar and SSP Vigilance Range Jalandhar Rajeshwar Singh from October 28 to November 3 this year. Vigilance Awareness Week is being celebrated under the theme 'Culture of Integrity for the Prosperity of the Nation'. He said that under this, in the coming days, seminars against corruption will be held in schools and colleges, villages and cities of the district and everyone will be united against corruption.
 On this occasion, officers and employees resolved to perform their duties honestly. Meanwhile, while the officers and employees of the district administrative complex were present in the hall to take the resolution, the officials of different departments and the staff and students of schools and colleges joined the event online through virtual mode and took a resolution against corruption. Among the schools and colleges connected through virtual mode were MBG Government College Pojewal, KC College of Education Nawanshahr and Government Senior Secondary School Nora etc. On this occasion, apart from officers and employees of various departments, officers and employees of Vigilance Unit Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar were also present.
