Armaanpreet from Punjab, who dreams of flying Sukhoi, secured first place in the NDA merit list.

SAS Nagar/Chandigarh, Oct 25: Cadet Armanpreet Singh of 12th Course of Maharaja Ranjit Singh Armed Forces Preparatory Institute (MRSAFPI) at SAS Nagar (Mohali) has topped the NDA All India Merit List.

SAS Nagar/Chandigarh, Oct 25: Cadet Armanpreet Singh of 12th Course of Maharaja Ranjit Singh Armed Forces Preparatory Institute (MRSAFPI) at SAS Nagar (Mohali) has topped the NDA All India Merit List.
Sharing information about this achievement, Punjab Employment, Skill Development and Training Minister Mr. Aman Arora said. Armanpreet Singh, son of Physics lecturer Satbir Singh of village Bhandal in Gurdaspur district, has made Punjab proud by securing the first rank in the NDA-153 All India Merit List declared by UPSC on Thursday evening.
He said Armanpreet is the third cadet of the organisation to top the NDA All India Merit List during the last 12 years. Armanpreet Singh, a brilliant student, has opted for the Air Force and aspires to fly Sukhoi Su-30 MKI in the near future.
Apart from Armanpreet Singh, 14 other cadets out of 24 who appeared for the SSB exam from this institute have also made it to the merit list. Cadet Keshav Singla has secured 15th rank. It is worth mentioning that some of these cadets are undergoing medical examination before getting the call-up letter for joining.
Congratulating Armanpreet Singh and other cadets, Mr. Aman Arora said that this is their first step towards becoming officers in the Indian Defense Forces. He wished all the selected cadets a bright future.
Major General Ajay H Chauhan (VSM), Director, Maharaja Ranjit Singh AFPI congratulated Armanpreet and other cadets and encouraged them to bring laurels to Punjab and the country. He said that for the first time so many cadets have qualified for the NDA course starting in December.
It is worth mentioning that since the establishment of Maharaja Ranjit Singh AFPI, a total of 238 cadets of this organization have joined various service training academies. And during this period a total of 160 cadets have been selected as commissioned officers in the defence services. He said that the Institute is eagerly waiting for the release of the Technical Entrance Merit List which is expected to be released soon.
