On this occasion, he praised the art of the artisans and craftsmen who brought their goods to the fair stalls from different states of the country and said that such fairs become sources of employment for these artisans and artisans.
He said that today due to the mechanized age, trade and handicrafts have changed but as these artisans and artisans are carrying our heritage forward from generation to generation, we need to buy their hand crafted products. Therefore, their courage should be increased.
On this occasion, Mr. Vineet Verma also visited the Lai stall led by Ms. Preeti Arora, City Mission Manager of Municipal Corporation Mohali and praised the prepared goods. He also interacted with the female students participating in the awareness event against gender discrimination under Beti Bachao Beti Padhao campaign.
The member of the commission, Vineet Verma, told the district administration, Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar, that for the first time in the district such a huge fair in which artists presenting the culture of different states, food and delicacies from different parts of the country, and fine painting and handicrafts. Deputy Commissioner Mrs. Ashika Jain and Nodal Officer Mela Mrs. Sonam Chaudhary were also congratulated for successfully organizing the exhibition of finished goods and the musical evening performance based on the daily named artistes, added.
