
Aam Aadmi Party candidate from Nilokheri Amar Singh joins Congress
Chandigarh, October 2- Amar Singh, who is contesting as Aam Aadmi Party candidate from Nilokheri (reserved) seat, joined the Congress today. Amar Singh announced his joining the Congress in the presence of Leader of Opposition in the Punjab Vidhan Sabha Pratap Singh Bajwa at the party's headquarters in Chandigarh. Pratap Singh Bajwa has formally made him a member of the party.
Chandigarh, October 2- Amar Singh, who is contesting as Aam Aadmi Party candidate from Nilokheri (reserved) seat, joined the Congress today. Amar Singh announced his joining the Congress in the presence of Leader of Opposition in the Punjab Vidhan Sabha Pratap Singh Bajwa at the party's headquarters in Chandigarh. Pratap Singh Bajwa has formally made him a member of the party. Welcoming Amar Singh, Pratap Singh Bajwa said that he has joined the Congress without any conditions and announced his full support to the Congress candidate Dharmapal ji. Pratap Bajwa said that Amar Singh is very popular among the Sikh community of Nilokheri and has been associated with Guru Ghar for the past 25 years. He said that the number of Sikh voters in Nilokheri is around 25 thousand.
Talking to reporters, Amar Singh said that at present the competition in Haryana is directly between Congress and BJP. Similar is the situation in Nilokheri. He said that the biggest objective at the moment is to get rid of the BJP government which is doing injustice to farmers, women, Dalits and minorities and only Congress can do this. He said that if he contested the election, it would have directly benefited the BJP. He said that he is joining the Congress to ensure that there is no division of votes.
On this occasion, Haryana Pradesh Congress Committee media in-charge Kewal Dhingra and Haryana Pradesh Congress Committee Legal Cell Chairman KC Bhatia also welcomed Amar Singh to the party.
