Sahitya Vigyan Kendra Chandigarh organized an excellent annual program in Community Center Sector 42. The chief guest was Mr. KK Sharda, President of Punjab Haryana Khadi Mandal and the program was presided over by eminent litterateur Mr. Prem Vijji. In the beginning, Public Secretary Mrs. Davinder Kaur Dhillon welcomed all the guests and audience and told the purpose of today's program.
Chairman of the Center Mr. Gurdarshan Singh Mavi said that this annual program is unique because an attempt has been made to show Punjabi culture through choreography, songs, music, skits and Jago. The program started with a religious song by Gurdas Singh Das who came from Pinjore. The choreography "Punjab Di Mitti" was beautifully presented by Davinder Kaur Dhillon, Malkit Kaur Basra, Narinder Kaur Longia, Charanjit Kaur Bath, Ramandeep Kaur, Jyoti.
After Surjit Singh Dheer's ghazal, Narinder Singh and Narinder Kaur Longia danced on a Punjabi song. Balwinder Singh Dhillon, Rattan Babakwala, Boor Singh, Dr. Manjit Singh Ball, Darshan Singh Sidhu, Labh Singh Lahli, Tarsem Raj danced on various Punjabi songs and showed their talent. The group mesmerized everyone by choreographing songs like 'Gadwa Le De Chandi Da', 'Hoya Ki Je Kudi Aa Tu, Delhi Shehar Di', 'Pandit Ji Ki Ih Lal Mera...' etc.
Character play "Begho Naar" was presented by Darshan Singh Teuna and Darshan Teuna presented the play "Chaalak Naukar". Manpreet Kaur, Balkar Sidhu, Dr. Avtar Singh Patang, Harbhajan Kaur Dhillon, Gurmel Singh Maujowal and about eighty dignitaries from Mumbai were present on this occasion.
