SAS Nagar, August 28- Taking strict notice of the recent issuance of a written letter by the Mohali district administration to 17 gram panchayats regarding the resolution to sell their shamlat lands, the organizations of the Sanyukta Kisan Morcha have opened a front against it.
In this regard, in a meeting called by the farmer organizations at Gurdwara Amb Sahib in Mohali today (in which prominent people of the area also participated), it has been decided that in this regard, a “Save Land, Save Village Committee” will be formed to struggle against the government and resolutions will be passed in gram sabhas against this action of the government by making people aware.
During the meeting, the speakers said that according to the reports received from various villages, there is a lot of anger among the people of the villages against these orders of the government and the panchayats are also not ready to accept such orders. The speakers said that in the recent meeting of the panchayats convened at the DDPO office, pressure was also put on the panchayats to pass resolutions immediately, but the sarpanches expressed their inability to pass such resolutions.
