
Army deployed to help flood-hit people in Ajnala area; 40 villages submerged in water.
Amritsar- Army has reached Ajnala area to help people due to flood in Ravi river. The district administration team has also started rescue operations at 4 am. Deputy Commissioner Sakshi Sahni and Additional Deputy Commissioner Rohit Gupta reached the spot with their teams in the morning.

Ramdas, where the convoy of vehicles used to proceed till yesterday, has also been blocked by water today. From there, soldiers have been sent on tractors to evacuate people from their homes and take them to safe places.
Meanwhile, army personnel have also reached early this morning. They have special training to deal with such situations. They have brought their boats. Currently, the work of bringing the people surrounded by water to safe places is going on.
It is worth mentioning that on the morning of August 27, the Dhusi dam broke and the water rose towards the populated areas and more than 20 villages in the Ramdas area were submerged in water. Rescue operations were going on till 11 pm to save the people. According to the information, the water is rising further and now about 40 villages, which is twice as many as yesterday, are submerged in water. Efforts are being made to safely evacuate people from these villages as well. In most of the villages, people who have two-storey houses have moved to the upper floors.
