Governor of Punjab and Administrator of UT Chandigarh Shri Gulab Chand Kataria ji visited Chandigarh Bird Park

Chandigarh, 11th September 2024:- Today, Sh. Gulab Chand Kataria, Governor Punjab and Administrator UT Chandigarh alongwith his wife, Smt. Anita Kataria, visited the Bird Park in Sector-1, Chandigarh. Shri T. C. Nautiyal, Chief Conservator of Forests, showed them around and explained the details of various sections of the bird park including the Rashi Van, Navagraha Van and Nakshatra Van.

Chandigarh, 11th September 2024:- Today, Sh. Gulab Chand Kataria, Governor Punjab and Administrator UT Chandigarh alongwith his wife, Smt. Anita Kataria, visited the Bird Park in Sector-1, Chandigarh. Shri T. C. Nautiyal, Chief Conservator of Forests, showed them around and explained the details of various sections of the bird park including the Rashi Van, Navagraha Van and Nakshatra Van. 
The Administrator walked through the park’s lush green spaces covered by terrestrial plants, ferns, shrubs, bushes, aquatic plants, trees and creepers. He viewed the main attractions of the Bird Park including African Love Birds, Budgerigars, White Swan, Black Swan, Wood duck, Golden Pheasant, Yellow Golden Pheasant, Green Wing Macaw, Sun Conures, African Grey Parrot and Melanistic Pheasant. 
The Administrator appreciated the beautiful exotic bird species and acknowledged the efforts taken by Department of Forests and Wildlife, Chandigarh for maintaining the natural living conditions for these birds which has become a must visit destination of Chandigarh. 
The Department of Forests & Wildlife, UT Chandigarh had developed Bird Park at Nagar Van behind Sukhna Lake, Chandigarh for creating awareness among general public towards bird conservation especially the young minds on nature education and conservation. These Aviaries have been created for the exotic birds which are commonly bred in India.
