Chandigarh: 2nd Oct, 2024:- Punjab Engineering College (Deemed to be University), Chandigarh on 1st October, 2024 observed a pledge taking ceremony to mark and celebrate International Day of Old Persons (Aging with Dignity) in adherence to the Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, Govt. of India, New Delhi.   
Director of PEC, Prof. Rajesh Bhatia (Ad Interim) along with Registrar Col. R. M. Joshi administered the pledge/Oath to all the employees and staff members of the Institute outside the administrative block. He also shed light on the importance of treating elders with respect, kindness, empathy and dignity. We should create a supporting and inclusive environment to provide physical and emotional support to our elders. 
All the heads of departments, Faculty & staff members, teaching & non-teaching staff members of PEC also participated in this oath taking ceremony highlighting the love, respect and care for the senior citizens in the family and community at large.
