
Istri Jagriti Manch celebrates International Women's Day in Nawanshahr
Nawanshahr, March 8- Today Istri Jagriti Manch District Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar celebrated International Women's Day at Shaheed Malkit Chand Mehli Bhawan, Banga Road, Nawanshahr. The event was dedicated to late Gurbaksh Kaur Sanga, former State President of Istri Jagriti Manch, a struggling leader who led this organization for 31 years. The district level program was presided over by Balbir Kaur Sanga Shahabpur, Harbans Kaur Nawanshahr, Sudesh Kumari Mahal Gehla, Anita Balachaur and Kamlesh Kaur Urpar.

On this occasion, district leaders of the forum Santosh Kumari Kural, Harbans Kaur Nawanshahr, Rajwinder Kaur, Surjit Kaur Utal, Shakuntala Saroy, Kiranjit Kaur Dharamkot, Manjit Kaur Alachaur, Kamaljit Kaur Musapur, Paramjit Kaur Mirpur presented their views and said that it is necessary for women to form organizations and struggle to get their identity recognized, to develop in new ways and to face the attacks on women from all sides. They said that today is a proud day for the women's community.
Even today social and economic discrimination against women continues. Girls have a lot of discrimination in upbringing, education and hard work as compared to men. Violence, domestic violence, rape, women are facing harassment. The evil of dowry is still prevalent in the society. Women need to form organizations and struggle to get their rights.
Attacking the Modi government, they said that this government is anti-women, anti-religious minorities, anti-democratic rights and anti-constitution. For this government, every person and organization that criticizes the government is a traitor. It has become a daily routine for this government to divide people in the name of religion and violate human rights.
Under this government, the insecurity of women has increased and this government has always supported rapists, rioters and corrupt people. He said that women are neither safe in their homes nor outside. Attacking the AAP government in Punjab, he said that this government is not fulfilling its promise of giving Rs 1000 per month to every woman in the elections.
Referring to the historical role of women, he said that major social, economic and political changes in history have been possible only with the participation of women. Which could not have happened without the participation of women. He said that we should intensify the struggle against the current socio-economic-political system, which is the enemy of women.
