Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar, 29 September 2024:- Under the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao campaign, the Department of Social Security, Women and Child Development, Punjab is continuously making efforts to raise the standard of living of the girl child and to balance the sex ratio, under which various awareness activities are being conducted. Giving this information, District Program Officer Gagandeep Singh said that the objective of this campaign is to improve the sex ratio, empower women and encourage girls towards education.
He said that to change the thinking of the general public towards girls in the society, under the awareness activities under the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao campaign, the Department of Social Security and Women and Child Development, Punjab and the District Administration SAS Nagar, after first making graffiti on the walls of Kurali flyover and giving pictures with information about the girls who have gained fame at the national and international level, now a wall painting has been made in an area of ????about 5000 square feet here on Zirakpur flyover (near Cosmo Mall). Which gives the message of taking care of daughters.
He further informed that under the leadership of Deputy Commissioner Mrs. Ashika Jain, the department will also get such wall paintings done on the flyovers of Navan Chandigarh and Derabassi, so that people can develop a sense of respect for girls and create public awareness to eliminate the difference between boys and girls.
