Nawanshahr, September 29 - On the 117th birthday of Shaheed-e-Azam Senior Bhagat Singh, a two-day special program was organized by the Nawanshahr administration in his native village Khatkar Kalan. Mr. Mohinder Bhagat, the recently appointed cabinet minister of the Punjab government, who attended the program, answered the sharp questions asked by the journalists very politely.
The special thing here was that Mr. Mohinder Bhagat, despite being an important minister in the Punjab government at this time, roamed around freely without security personnel like the Kakeyans of ordinary houses. On this occasion, during a special conversation, Mr. Bhagat said that today is the 117th birth anniversary of Shaheed-e-Azam S. Bhagat Singh, the great hero of India's freedom struggle. He was born on 28 September 1907 in village Banga (now in Pakistan) of Tehsil Uddawala, District Saifabad. The mansion in which he was born has been preserved as a museum by Pakistani hero Saqib. Where he has decorated 400 pictures of freedom fighters, Bhagat Singh's life of just 23 years is a big saga full of ideological and political struggles which is a source of inspiration for the countrymen, especially the young generation.
Bhagat Singh was a thinker, a good organizer, an effective speaker, a good leader and a person who gave priority to logic. In 1923, Bhagat Singh left home for Kanpur, writing a letter to his family saying that the main objective of his life is freedom. There he worked in Ganesh Shankar Vidyarthi's 'Pratap' newspaper, where he wrote an article on the Babbar Akali movement, 'Holi de din lahu de chhite'. While studying in National College Lahore, Bhagat Singh got scientific thinking from Bhagwati Charan Vohra. Due to this thinking, Bhagat Singh wrote what is anarchism, socialism, why am I an atheist, the philosophy of shutdown, revolution zindabad, letter to Sukhdev, running away from sorrow is cowardice, message to the nation, struggle for freedom and after that "hanging not saanu goli naal udaaya jaaye" etc. letters were written which are proof of his deep understanding.
He said that today we should remember Bhagat Singh and his fellow revolutionaries by taking inspiration from their ideology, political insight and struggling life and try to follow in their footsteps, this will be a true tribute to those great revolutionaries. In response to the question of starting a scheme in the name of Shaheed Bhagat Singh in medical college, women account, he said that the honorable government will fulfill all its promises soon. Regarding stopping drug trafficking, he said that it takes time to end any evil but it will end.
