Hoshiarpur - District level games organized by the Sports Department of Punjab Government under 'Khedan Batan Punjab Diyan' concluded at Football Academy Mahilpur. On this occasion, District Sports Officer Gurpreet Singh said that players of different age groups participated in these district level games, including players from under-14 to above 70 years of age. These games were organized from 16 September to 22 September 2024 with great effort and dedication. With the cooperation of all the trainers and officials, these games were successfully completed.
The final matches of the Under-17 Girls Football Competition were held today. In the semi-final match between Football Academy Mahilpur and Football Academy Mazara Dingriya, the Mahilpur team won 4-2 in the penalty shootout and confirmed their place in the final. Similarly, the team of Football Academy Paldi reached the final by defeating the team of Mukerian.
In the final match, Football Academy Paldi defeated the Mahilpur team and won the gold medal. The team from Mahilpur won the silver medal while the team from Mazara Dingriya came third and secured the bronze medal. During the closing ceremony, District Sports Officer Gurpreet Singh thanked all the coaches, officials, teachers and other associates who played a vital role in making these district level games a success.
