Hoshiarpur- MP Dr. Raj Kumar Chabbewal assured justice to the ex-servicemen of the district in the case of attack on Indian Army Colonel and his son in Patiala a few days ago.
Today, a delegation of ex-servicemen of the district met MP Dr. Raj Kumar Chabbewal and submitted a memorandum demanding strict action against the Punjab Police personnel in the case of attack on the Colonel.
Referring to the invaluable contribution of the army, the MP said that the whole country wholeheartedly salutes our brave soldiers and their steadfast spirit towards the country and the Aam Aadmi Party government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann has zero tolerance in such cases. He expressed his condolences to the family on this unfortunate incident and assured that necessary action has been initiated and a high-level SIT has been formed to take the investigation to its logical conclusion.
Dr Chabbewal also informed that a high level investigation team headed by an ADGP level officer will conduct the investigation on a daily basis so that further action can be taken as per law. Dr Chabbewal informed that all the 12 police officials involved in the incident have already been suspended and departmental action has been initiated.
He said that all these officials are being transferred out of the district to ensure justice. The members of the delegation included Lt Gen (Retd) VSM JS Dhillon, Chairman Capt Jatinder Singh, Col Malsu Singh, Col DJS Patial, Col PS Manhas.
Col MG Ahluwalia, Col Karan Singh, RPO Pradeep Kumar, Surinder Sharma were also present on the occasion.
