Nawanshahr, July 23 - A constable died after being shot in the district court this afternoon. According to the information received, Jawan Havildar Harvinder Singh had come on duty from Ludhiana to present the accused in the Nawanshahr court, while he was permanently posted on duty at Pojewal police station. Little did he know that he was going on duty today but would never go back to his police station or his family. Today afternoon, when he went to the bathroom outside the court after presenting the accused in the court, while coming out, his foot suddenly slipped on the tiles and the sling of the AK 47 kept on his shoulder broke. Due to the breaking of the sling, his rifle fell down and a bullet came out of it and hit the employee's head. After this, there was chaos outside the court, people gathered and immediately took the youth to the nearby civil hospital, where doctors declared him dead. SHO Pojewal Surinder Singh Heer is contacting the family of the deceased. SHO Sadar Nawanshahr is taking appropriate action on the statements of the deceased's wife Harpreet Kaur. It has been learned that the deceased Harvinder Singh was the only son of his parents, his only sister is married and lives safely at her home, the deceased Harvinder Singh has a son of just two years. It has also been learned that the father of the deceased Harvinder Singh was employed in CISF and he died about two years ago while on duty. Harvinder Singh joined Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar Police as a constable in 2011. Due to this incident, there is a huge mourning in Una Himachal Pradesh near the deceased's village Mazara. The police have taken appropriate action on the statements of the deceased's wife Harpreet Kaur and the postmortem of Havildar Harvinder Singh's body is being done.
