Chief Minister announces compensation of Rs 10 lakh each for the kin of the deceased.

Amritsar, May 13- Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann today reached village Mardi in Majitha constituency where he met the families of those who died due to consuming poisonous liquor. He has assured all possible help from the government to the victim families. The Chief Minister said that the deaths in this incident are not ordinary deaths but murder. He said that the government will provide financial assistance of Rs 10 lakh to the family of each deceased person and the government will bear the education expenses of their children.

The Chief Minister revealed that 17 people have died so far due to consuming poisonous liquor. The government has taken strict action in this regard and suspended two officers of the police department and the excise department. Further investigation is underway in this regard.
So far, 17 accused have been arrested in this case. He said that the threads of this case are connected to Delhi and police teams have also been sent to Delhi to arrest other persons involved in this. He said in strong words that anyone involved in this case, even if he is influential in the government, will not be spared.
