Ban on sale and purchase of military colored uniforms, badges, caps, belts etc

Patiala, June 8 – Additional District Magistrate Madam Kanchan using the powers conferred under the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973, within the limits of district Patiala ordered the ban of olive green (military colour) uniforms, army badges, caps, belts and army insignia from the general public etc. is strictly prohibited to buy, sell and use.

In these orders issued, it has been stated that special olive green (military color) uniforms are used by the Indian military. But generally it has been observed that olive green (military color) uniforms, army badges, caps, belts and army insignia etc. are openly available in the shops due to which some mischievous elements misappropriate them. By using it, creating a disturbance in the peace and tranquility of the country, endangering the existence of human life. Hence it is necessary to ban the use and sale of olive green (military colour) uniforms, army badges, caps, belts and army insignia by the general public to ensure distinction and to prevent such incidents. These orders will remain in force till August 5 in the district.
