
Virtual review meeting of Election Commission regarding preparations for counting of votes

He gave this information in the virtual review meeting of the Election Commission held with all the District Election Officers of the state on Monday regarding the preparations for counting of votes.
Jatin Lal said that after the voting, arrangements have been made to keep the EVM/VVPAT machines in strong rooms under complete security at the counting venue, where there will be strict surveillance by security forces along with surveillance through CCTV cameras. According to the guidelines of the Election Commission, proper arrangements have been made for barricading, security arrangements, water, food, separate entrances and parking for the counting personnel at the counting site. Apart from this, guidelines have also been issued regarding vote counting by organizing training workshops for the counting personnel.
Giving information about the arrangements made for counting of votes in the district, the District Election Officer said that counting centers have been set up in Government College, Una for counting of votes for the Lok Sabha elections and two assembly by-elections. 5 assembly wise counting centers have been set up for EVM vote counting of Lok Sabha. Apart from this, two separate counting centers have also been created for the assembly by-elections of Gagret and Kutlahar for which all preparations have been completed.
On this occasion, ASP Sanjeev Bhatia, Tehsildar Suman Kapoor and other officers were present.
