Mahilpur- After the results of the Municipal Corporation elections were declared, political turmoil is at its peak in Punjab. In Phagwara, considered a stronghold of Congress, today Lok Sabha member Dr. Raj Kumar Chabbewal once again proved his political strength.
Under his leadership, AAP got further strengthened today and Congress councilors Manish Prabhakar, Rampal Uppal, Padam Sudhir (Nikka) along with their colleagues joined AAP. A day earlier, BJP councilor Paramjit Singh Khurana also shook hands with Dr. Raj and joined AAP. Earlier, two independent candidates Inderjit Singh and Harpreet Singh Bhogal also accepted the leadership of Dr. Raj and made public their decision to support AAP.
Former block president Peppy Sharma also joined AAP. In a brief ceremony in Phagwara, these councilors formally announced joining AAP in the presence of Dr. Raj, AAP MLA Raman Arora, AAP spokesperson Harnoor Singh Mann and former minister Joginder Singh Mann.
Senior AAP leaders assured these councillors that they would be given suitable posts and responsibilities in the party. Daljit Raju, Jaspal Singh Pandori Bibi, councillor Vicky Sood, Om Prakash Bittu, Bobby Bedi etc were also present on this occasion.
