Officials said that several workers are feared trapped at the site of the accident at Sigachi Pharma Company at Pashamillaram Industrial Estate and efforts are underway to rescue them.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed grief over the loss of lives in the accident and prayed for the speedy recovery of the injured. In a post on X, he announced a compensation of Rs 2 lakh each to the kin of the deceased and Rs 50,000 each to the injured.
Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy also expressed grief over the accident and directed the officials to expedite relief and rescue operations. Telangana Health Minister Damodar Raja Narasimha said the death toll in the blast has risen to 12.
The minister told reporters, “At least 12 people died in the blast due to a suspected chemical reaction while 34 people are undergoing treatment. We hope there will be no more deaths.”
Labour Minister G. Vivek Venkataswamy said, “Eight people died in the morning. Now four more bodies have been found.” The two ministers visited the plant.
Earlier, IGP (Multizone) V. Satyanarayana had quoted sources in the factory as saying that 150 people were present in the factory at the time of the blast. There were 90 people present in the part of the plant where the blast took place.
