Patiala, May 14 - Avtar Singh Nagla, an independent candidate from Sri Anandpur Sahib, has complained to the Election Commission against Akali Dal candidate NK Sharma from Patiala constituency. That they have occupied the Shamlat land for their flats project and petrol pump.
Addressing a press conference at the Patiala Media Club here today, Avtar Singh Nagla said that he has attached all the evidence with his complaint and if the Election Commission does not take action, we will approach the court. They alleged that in Bhankharpur of Derabassi Constituency, NK Sharma has also set up a petrol pump on Shamlat land, the NOC of which was issued when he was the Municipal Council President, but the land falls outside the limits of Municipal Council.
On the other hand, when contacted, NK Sharma said that Avtar Singh Nagla is a fraudulent person against whom dozens of cases are registered. It wants to extort ransom from property tycoons whose recording evidence is already public. He said that in the case of his property projects, investigations have been done four times with the committee under the supervision of the High Court and he always got a clean chit, but this person tells lies repeatedly only to collect ransom and is a fugitive.
He said that his partner Rajinder Singh Taggar is already in jail under the charge of blackmailing. He also said that he has no connection with the petrol pump he is talking about. They never installed any petrol pump.
