Hoshiarpur - In view of the Lok Sabha elections 2024, on the instructions of the District Election Officer-cum Deputy Commissioner Komal Mittal, a Mega Voter Mela was organized at GGSD College Haryana on Tuesday evening by Vidhan Sabha Constituency 042 Sham Chaurasi to educate the voters under sweep activities. Meanwhile, Assistant Returning Officer Sham Chaurasi-cum-Commissioner Municipal Corporation Hoshiarpur Dr. Amandeep Kaur attended as the chief guest. Meanwhile, the program started with a cultural song depicting Punjabi heritage.
Assistant Returning Officer Dr. Amandeep Kaur encouraged all the eligible voters to vote on June 1, 2024 and administered the oath of vote. He said that voting is the fundamental right of every eligible voter and everyone should exercise it. He informed that the Election Commission of India will provide tents, chairs, fans, coolers etc. at every booth in view of the summer season. Apart from this, many facilities have been provided by the Election Commission for PWD and voters above 85 years of age. Meanwhile, District Sweep Nodal Officer Preet Kohli informed the people about the importance of voting. On this occasion, teacher Varinder Nimana released a song written by him about votes. Meanwhile, a special exhibition was also organized on Sham Chaurasi Sangeet Gharana. Apart from this, various types of voter awareness rangolis also remained the center of attraction.
